Madeaux in The Lab LA

The Lab Los Angeles is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly post-work unwind where we stream only the finest American and international DJs, live and direct from our Downtown LA office. This Friday, we're in with Madeaux in The Lab LA.

Born Andrew Berman, Madeaux launched his musical career off as a wunderkind freshly introduced to the world of production. With only a year of experience under his belt, he nabbed one of five coveted spots to work and collaborate with Deadmau5 on his mau5hax project during the 2012 Winter Music Conference.

After breaking into electronic music firstly as part of a duo called Shapes of Light, the Miami native has since been propelling his solo career on an upward trajectory, settling on an experimental focus on future bass and R&B-influenced electronic tones. He's since been picked up and recognized by A-Trak and his subsequent Fool's Gold Records, where Madeaux released his 'New Wav' EP earlier this year.

On opening duties we welcome Hyyer, born Monica Abreu who calls Los Angeles home by way of the Dominican Republic. While also honing in on her production and DJ career, Hyyer is simultaneously pursuing a degree in Music Production and working at the esteemed G.O.O.D. Music and is set to release her debut album later this year.
