London’s Venue MOT is set to host a fundraiser event at the end of the month raising money for UK homelessness charity Shelter.

The event is set to take place on December 22, 2023, at the Bermondsey-based club, running from 11:PM until 6:AM.

The line-up includes UK bass and garage specialists including Oblig, Bluetoof, Bruce, MJK, Alicia, OL Drift, Scar, Allecto, Pasta Kebab, and Stem.

“We wanted to use one of the last remaining dates of the calendar year for a good cause again,” Venue MOT’s Lucien Calkin tells Mixmag.

Last December, Venue MOT hosted a fundraiser event, named ‘Women, Life, Freedom’, bringing financial aid to those affected by the oppressive regime in Iran. The event was hosted by Iranian artists MOTZ and Motif Paris, featuring both art and music.

“This time it will be towards Shelter who provide help for those sleeping rough, which is especially needed for this time of year,” he said. We called upon quite a few promoters and labels to work with who are close to the venue, pulling together a stacked bill of some of the UK’s best.”

KINDRED, Goodness, Late Night Shopper, Terra Obscura, and Infa Red are all billed as promoters on the event, each frequent collaborators and friends of Venue MOT.

“Hopefully it can make a little difference and be able to contribute to the cause,” says Calkin. “Artists are wiping their fees and all proceeds will be going to Shelter.”

Tickets for the next fundraiser event are free to reserve now, with a suggested donation of £5 or more on the door. Find tickets here, and find out more about Shelter here.
