ШЩЦ (otherwise known as SHSHCHTS), a music collective founded in Kyiv and now based in London, is launching a third instalment of its compilation series, with this edition paying homage to the late musician Maksym Ostyak.

‘ШЩЦ03: Various Artists’ features an array of artists from Kyiv and beyond, including Ivan Skoryna, Andriy Kostyukov, Bodya Konakov, and more.

The 20-track compilation lands on the label tomorrow, December 1, serving as a “fundraiser dedicated to the memory of Maksym Ostyak, a cherished member of the [ШЩЦ] community”.

Maksym Ostyak was a musician, artist and volunteer soldier who was a beloved part of the ШЩЦ roster. He tragically lost his life while volunteering in the army, defending Ukraine.

“The primary objective of this fundraising initiative is to provide financial support to Maksym's daughter, offering her a sense of hope and assistance,” says ШЩЦ.

‘ШЩЦ03: Various Artists’ was put together through an open call to collaborate with friends of the label and collective, offering a range of genres from IDM to witch house to ambient to indie electronica.

Speaking on the release, ШЩЦ explains that it not only highlights the “vibrant Ukrainian music scene”, but also features contributions from “artists around the globe”.

To mark the release, the collective is set to host a show in London on December 9 at The Old Church Stoke Newington, fusing ambient, noise, and contemporary pop music.

The showcase includes friends and family and those on the ШЩЦ roster, as well as a “mesmerising” organ performance from Ellis Bredwick.
