Belgian brilliance from one of the country's best
A lot of great music has come out of Belgium but none of it is sounding as good as Locked Groove's is at the moment.
Sure Soulwax, Dr Lektroluv and Goose have all impressed over the years but Tim Van de Meutter's sound is bringing a welcomed edge of darkness to the country's output.
He regularly releases on Hotflush but more recently dropped a track via Life & Death, a label whose sound suits the producer down to a tee. His latest EP however will arrive via his own imprint, Locked Groove Records, the label's third release so far.
The split EP features the tracks 'End' and 'Scherzo', two cuts that delightfully showcase the producer's trippy and side-winding sound and we've got the premiere of 'End'.
Take a slab of pulsating techno, add in some weird, meandering synths and wrap the whole thing in a cloak of darkness and you've got a track that's going send any raver straight down the rabbit hole. Wicked.
