Listen to George Michael’s posthumous ‘Fantasy’ with Nile Rodgers
The single is an upbeat dance track that reworks the 1990 B-side
On Thursday (September 7) a new version of George Michael’s track ‘Fantasy’ was premiered on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast show with Chris Evans.
The late Wham! singer reportedly had plans to release new music before he tragically passed away on Christmas Day 2016, and this is the first posthumous track to come from him.
‘Fantasy’ was originally a B-side to Michael’s 1990 hit ‘Freedom!’ and the new version features his newly recorded vocals and Rodgers’ classic disco guitar riffs on the production.
Rodgers spoke out on Twitter about his ‘emotional ambiguity’ and ‘mixed feelings’ caused by working on the track when responding to fans.
The 2017 version of ‘Fantasy’ will feature on a reissue of Michael’s ‘Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1’ which is out on October 20 alongside his ‘MTV Unplugged’ performance.
