Listen to a storming Hessle Audio live set
The trio demolished Freerotation festival (and recorded it)
Hessle Audio have posted an incendiary live recording to their SoundCloud.
The trio behind the record label-come-DJ unit – Ben UFO, Pearson Sound and Pangea – played back-to-back at Freerotation festival in Wales earlier this month and turned out an incredible session, which you can hear below.
The three are regulars at the intimate event, having appeared for the last seven years in a row. Those who have seen them play as Hessle Audio will know that they'll each mix for an extended amount of time, but this set saw them take on a proper back-to-back, going a couple tunes on, a couple tunes off. That's probably why this one sounds so special: there's a sense of energy throughout and the selections careen through house, techno, UK funky, hardcore and weird bass mutations.
In a message posted to the Hessle Audio Facebook page, they said: "Freerotation is a festival we've played for the last seven years. It's the only festival we've played so regularly, and it's an incredibly special place to all three of us.
"This is the first time we've shared a recording of the three of us in a club or festival setting, and it feels right that it is from there."
This one was life affirming at the time and the playback is just as crucial. Don't sleep!
