LCY returns with new single and announces next EP, ‘0’
The celestial new track ‘Cherubim’ is out now
LCY has returned with their first new single since 2021’s ’22:22’, titled ‘Cherubim’.
The track comes alongside the announcement of their brand new EP also set to land before the end of the year, ‘0’, hitting the producer’s own label SZNS7N on December 8.
The next project from LCY continues the world-building themes of their previous projects, touching on ‘protection, conformity and safety’ in relation to societal binaries.
‘0’ also continues the visual and sonic themes of their December 2021-released ’22:22’, the artist’s last new work to be released on SZNS7N. Recurring celestial themes and thoughts on purity and spirituality are set to run throughout ‘0’.

On ‘Cherubim’, LCY explores safety and nostalgia through hard breaks and choppy rhythms, layered up with their own angelic vocals to create a contrasting sense of familiarity.
“Cherubim is the first single from my forthcoming project ‘0’ (out next month) written centring a universe of a different world and religion,” LCY said on the single.
“The full project and accompanying story follow themes of surveillance, conformity and safety and their relation to societal binaries, with parasitic angel-like creatures as a focus in the fantasy narrative.”

The next EP will be built around the story’s theme of ‘shelter’. LCY announced the release of their next work on Instagram yesterday, alongside the cover art for ‘Cherubim’.
LCY’s last project came in 2021 with the dystopian EP ‘Pulling Teeth’, a six-tracker built into a surrealist universe exploring AI and post-human environments. The record was accompanied by a two-hour live audio instrumental piece.
“‘Pulling Teeth’ is my first completely non-fiction project and experience with world building after envisioning and drawing what would be the main character nearly 2 years ago,” LCY said on the project.
Continuing those conceptual, world-building themes, ‘0’ is set to land on SZNS7N on December 8, 2022. Pre-order it here, and listen to 'Cherubim' below.
