Laurence Guy
If you like house, this is essential listening
Church is one of London's best outlets for underground house music that always goes down smooth. The parties at Corsica Studios are fully certified and releases from Lorca, Happa, Mall Grab and Ishmael have all been exceptional.
Laurence Guy made his debut on the label this time last year with the 'Kojak' EP and after it gained support from house veterans Move D and Session Victim, we knew we needed to keep an eye on him.
His 'Bamboo' EP is more of the soul-soothing same and it showcases four tracks of sublime house music. It's set to drop very soon so it's about time you heard the title track in all its glistening glory.
The percussion trickles in from the get-go and that flirtatious bassline does everything in its power to seduce, while the chords ripple and the instrumentals float in the background. It's the definition of serene and and fantastic way to celebrate a year since Laurence's first appearance on Church.
The 'Bamboo' EP will arrive soon via Church
