​Kyle Chase, owner of Liverpool nightclub Spray Shop, jailed for 12 years

Kyle Chase, the owner of Liverpool nightclub Spray Shop, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for drug trafficking.

39-year-old Chase, also known as Kyle Mundoon, received a sentence of 12 years and eight months at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, July 25.

According to Merseyside Police, Muldoon used encrypted messaging service Encrochat on several devices to supply “large quantities of Class A and B drugs”.

He was identified as having two aliases on the messaging service, ‘threefatladies’ and ‘fourfatladies’. Police found that other devices had the two handles saved as ‘kyle’, ‘K new’, ‘fat kyle’, and his DJ alias, ‘DJ Eldon’.

Muldoon pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply both Class A and B drugs during his court appearance. He was evidenced to have supplied 12kg of cocaine, 3kg of heroin, 10kg of ketamine, and 15kg of cannabis across the UK between March and June 2020.

“During a time when the vast majority of the country were staying indoors and looking out for each other, Muldoon remained intent on taking advantage of vulnerable people,” said Detective Inspector Laura Parr.

“Muldoon wrongly believed he could hide behind Encrochat devices, but sadly for him, this wasn’t the case and he now faces a lengthy prison sentence.”

Muldoon is thought to have gained hundreds of thousands of pounds in revenue from dealing large quantities of class A and B drugs.

Merseyside Police reported that as part of the evidence presented, Muldoon was found to have sent photos of his music studio, which he owned in Liverpool, to other Encrochat users.

Judge Gary Woodhall said during Muldoon’s sentencing: “You have clearly developed a skill set in the music industry and you were enjoying a degree of success.”

“It seems you had found your calling and were working hard in a legitimate business — no doubt that has all now been taken away because of the sentence I am about to impose.”

Muldoon’s 350-capacity nightclub Spray Shop first opened in February 2023 in Liverpool’s north docklands area. At the time of opening, Muldoon asserted: “I’m here to create a cultural legacy that this city can be proud of.”
