Krakota

The mere sight of a Krakota release and we're right on it, such is the young gun's way with a warping bassline, and with this full EP on Hospital his growing hype gets cemented further. The title track's rasping synth line crunches and growls beneath tight, slender rolling kicks, in a manner that carries an eerie echo of Ray Keith's classic 'Dark Soldier' – yet the whole atmosphere is entirely modern, swooshed in a thick layer of melting vocal atmospheres and delicate trancey twinkles. Elsewhere check the garage-inspired 'In the Area' for an appearance from old don vocalist Lifford – another slice of polished ingenuity.
