Kid Cudi was carried off stage following his Coachella set on Sunday (April 21), after reportedly breaking his foot in an attempt to jump down from the stage.

The artist's set at the Sahara Tent came to a sudden end during a rendition of 'Memories', reports The Standard, after he tried to leap down from his platform at the Sahara Tent to interact with fans.

The set marked Cudi's first at Coachella since 2019, after being added to the second weekend's line-up just days before — replacing Vampire Weekend.

Performing the David Guetta collaboration, footage from the set shows the 40-year-old artist losing his balance as he attempted to jump down from the stage.

The same footage cuts to the artist being carried out of the tent by security as his DJ plays Steve Aoki’s remix of ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’.

Afterwards, Cudi thanked fans for the show and explained his injuries in a post on Twitter: “Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show. just leavin' the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!!"

"I love you all man. I heard y'all still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big," he added.

According to Desert Sun, before the abrupt end of his set, Cudi performed ‘MOON MAN SHIT’ and ‘BLUE SKY’ live for the first time, as well as some older tracks such as 'Tequila Shots' and 'Up, Up & Away'.

Kid Cudi is due to tour the US, Europe and the UK from June with Pusha T, Jaden Smith and EarthGang on his new ‘Insano’ world tour.

It is unknown whether Cudi’s injury will affect the tour.
