Jlin announces new album featuring Björk, Philip Glass, and more
‘Akoma’ is out on Planet Mu this March
Jlin - real name Jerrilynn Patton - has revealed details of her forthcoming album on Planet Mu, ‘Akoma’, due to land this coming March.
The 11-track record is set to land on Mike Paradinas’ imprint on March 22 with features from Björk, as well as US string band Kronos Quartet and American composer and pianist, Philip Glass.
‘The Precision Of Infinity’ featuring Philip Glass is out today, marking the first release from the producer’s fourth studio album. The track abstracts Glass’ pianowork with mutated bass and a four-to-the-floor beat. Check it out below.

Jlin’s last full-length release came in 2018 with ‘Autobiography (Music from Wayne McGregor's Autobiography)’, the score for her collaboration with choreographer Wayne McGregor for Krakow’s experimental festival Unsound.
In 2023, Jlin was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in Music for her composition ‘Perspective’ for Third Coast Percussion, reaching the finalist stage.
“SURPRISE NEW ALBUM ALERT,” the producer announced on Instagram yesterday. “Jlin's 3rd album "Akoma" is released on March 22nd 2024.”
The record will be available on a limited edition gold vinyl double LP, as well as CD and digital, she confirmed. It follows a string of releases from Jlin on Planet Mu over the past nine years.
