Jamilah Barry this week self-released her latest EP ‘Romance Me’.
‘Romance Me’ is a beautifully laid-back, seductive and romantic RnB EP that’s tender yet entirely strong and self-assured.
Jamilah Barry was raised in London and Leeds on a mixture of soul, RnB, hip hop, Senegalese and Bollywood soundtracks alongside the Guinean music of her family heritage.

Her debut project ‘Salix Babylonica’ was released in 2018, and her 2019 single ‘Sunblock’ lauded the strength of Black women.
Speaking on the EP, Jamilah Barry has said, “In my opinion one of the biggest and most revelatory relationships we can have is the one with ourselves. And sometimes we further our discovery and learning about ourselves when we enter romantic relationships with others. We learn more about ourselves and the ways in which we show or want and need to be shown love. This EP is basically a walk through the different stages of a fictional romance. No filter, no cap, and no flukes. Just pure love shit.”
