Comedian James Acaster has announced his move into the music with a debut single under new alias, Temps.

Looping and layering a variety of drum beats and vocals the single has a multi-genre element of a mix between alt-rock, unorthodox hip hop and jazz which he names as “a DIY Gorillaz”.
The release comes alongside a colourful music video featuring Acaster dressed as a “Party Gator” dancing around a theme park.
“I became completely obsessed with this project,” states Acaster adding: “It was all I focussed on for two years and we ended up making my favourite thing ever. I hope people enjoy it.”

According to NME, Shamir has said: “Working with James Acaster on music was funny because the time signatures he had us singing on… I for one was challenged but it was so fun! An evil genius I fear!”
In 2019, Acaster published his book Perfect Sound Whatever which aimed to convince readers that 2016 was “the best year for music ever” with this concept later developing into his own podcast.
Bella Union has claimed that an album is in the pipeline and so we expect to hear more experimental work with more international artists from Temps soon.
