Jagwar Ma in The Lab NYC

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. Mixmag was excited to welcome Jagwar Ma to The Lab NYC on Thursday.

As one of the leading psychedelic rock and electronic outfits to surface in recent history, Jagwar Ma are proving to be in high demand as they continue their rapid trajectory into the limelight. After releasing their debut album in 2013, the trio consisting of Gabriel Winterfield, Jono Ma and Jack Freeman blossomed into one of the premiere groups coming out of Australia and have since toured the world, having played Glastonbury twice and provided support for acts like The XX, Tame Impala and Foals. Now with their second studio album, titled ‘Every Now & Then’, forthcoming on Mom+Pop/Marathon in October, they’re embarking on a solo world tour, making stops in Europe and North America before traveling back to their home country for a string of gigs.

Before they kick off the tour in the UK, including a sold out show at Electric Ballroom in London, Jagwar Ma stop off in NYC for a DJ set at The Lab NYC. They'll be back in the states come November, but an intimate performance like this is a special occasion only Mixmag can provide.
