The Lab SYD is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly live stream powered by Void acoustics, where we showcase both the finest Australian talent and quality international stars passing through the city.

Sydney-born, Berlin-based Isaac Tichauer heads to The Lab SYD for a special hometown set, two years on from hitting up The Lab LDN.

Heavily influenced by the Detroit house scene, this classically trained pianist dropped his latest EP ‘Street Lessons’ on LOFT Records early this year, featuring the primo sounds of ‘Higher Level’ and that remix by Bicep. The title track takes you straight to the dancefloor with signature progressive synth work, moody basslines and soulful vocal samples. As well as his deep connections to house music, Tichauer is no stranger to creating complex house grooves inspired by the soul and funk eras, as heard in his remixes for RUFUS, SG Lewis, and Anjunadeep.

A mainstay on French Express, Tichauer has released multiple singles through the New York-based label including his collab ‘Rush Hour’ with label mate Jonas Rathsman.

Listen to his hit single ‘Changes’ now on Spotify and catch him performing at Sydney’s Chinese Laundry on July 9.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs, providing up and coming talent with a solid platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together. Check out more from the Sound Collective here
