The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This week, we're getting a double dose of Lab goodness. The second installment of the week was an extra groovy one, with a blend of live performances and DJ sets from Crew Love's Nick Monaco and David Marston on Friday.

The event kicked off off with live sets from both Nick Monaco and David Marston before diving into a full DJ set from Nick Monaco. The exuberant, lipstick-donning Monaco arrives to Mixmag's Lab NYC fresh after releasing his second studio album, 'Half Naked'. The intimate jazz and funk-influenced electronic album is a personal and raw representation of the singer-songwriter-producer's ever evolving self, working to expand artistic expression and an infinitely open mind. The 'Freak Flag' artist also collaborated with Thai perfumer 'San' to create unique scents for each track on his album to add an exceptional and special sensory element to his work.

Joining Monaco was David Marston, a Jamaican producer and artist who lent his talents to Nick's latest 'Half Naked' after joining the Crew Love collective in 2014. He's worked with Soup Clap on a number of projects including his first 'Jamaicalia' EP and most recent 'Kindness Of Bearer' earlier this year. Marston, as a talented DJ and live musician collaborated with a number of vocalists, producers and instrumentalists on the latest EP for a well-rounded, impressively groovy compilation of tracks.

The Lab NYC is strongly powered by Void Acoustics. Tune into MixmagTV or watch David Marston and Nick Monaco's set on Mixmag's Facebook page or below.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs, providing up and coming talent with a solid platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together. Check out more from the Sound Collective here
