During the mid-2000s drum ‘n’ bass producers Hype and Pascal decided to shut down their True Playaz imprint as the scene was in a transformational stage. They stormed back in 2007 with Playaz Recordings and haven’t looked back since, revealing the breadth of the d’n’b genre with releases from Friction, Taxman, Break, Optiv & BTK, DJ Hazard and a host of others. Along with sub-labels, Frontline Records, Ganja Records, Ganja-Tek Recordings, Liq-weed Ganja Recordings, Playaz has remained a guiding force in the industry for nearly a decade.
