India’s longest-running Sunday event series, Sunday Playground, is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary this weekend — with a birthday party in Hyderabad.

Launched in 2014, Sunday Playground has been running in the centre of the Indian city of Hyderabad by its founder and fellow electronic DJ and label head to Hydrozoa Recordings, DJ Aardy.

For the past 10 years, parties have spotlighted an array of Indian artists from the likes of Shaun Moses, Ayesha Pramanik, Discokid, SHFT, Murthovic, Browncoat, SEQU3L, Jay Pei and Folic State.

On its 10-year anniversary party, Aardy will be performing alongside Aaryan, Nephra, Ayan, Abishek, Siiry and more regulars.

"I felt that nurturing local talent was the only way to build a thriving music community in the country," Aardy shares.

"While I was lucky enough to play abroad and release on international imprints, I would always stress that we should first look within our country to nurture the growing appetite for dance music in India.

"This was the vision we had to execute and I am extremely humbled that we have come this far," he adds.

The party will be running from noon till later with food and cocktails available as well as the Sunday Playground “spirit”.

Sunday Playground’s birthday event will take place on February 18 at the outdoor space Tabula Rasa.
