I. JORDAN announces new music initiative for trans and non-binary artists
Trans_Formation: Power in Community will also include help from Ifeoluwa and TAAHLIAH
New initiative, Trans_Formation: Power in Community has been announced by DJ and producer I. JORDAN to support trans and non-binary artists.
Launched by I. JORDAN, the six day project will take place in January with the help from music organisations Brighter Sound and Generator as well as fellow artists Ifeoluwa and AIM award winning artist TAAHLIAH.
Through the initiative those selected will have the opportunity to produce new music and perform at Newcastle’s Star & Shadow as well as new trans and non-binary festival TRANUARY in Manchester.

People interested can have either be a DJ, producer, vocalist or instrumentalist and over 18.
For those applying from the North East, North West and Yorkshire will be given priority alongside Black, South Asian and ethnically diverse people, plus people living with disabilities.
Describing the week to “massively impact” I. JORDAN’s life, their announcement on Instagram continues: “A week dedicated to creativity and music exploration for trans creatives only. Sharing trans and queer only spaces is so powerful, and I can only imagine what that will mean for us in a dedicated creative space.”

In another statement they said: “This will be an opportunity to support, nurture and grow our creativity and create something unique in a space that is ours. Trans and queer spaces are powerful and transformative, but there are not enough dedicated spaces that specifically allow artists to just create. We will be using the power of community to harness our creativity. I can’t wait to see what we make together.”
The deadline to apply for Trans_Formation: Power in Community is December 12 at 11PM. Apply here.
