Hot Since 82 has shared the first details of his forthcoming album, 'Obsessions', alongside a brand new single.

Set for release on September 4 via his Knee Deep In Sound imprint, 'Obsessions' has been inspired by a "period of introspection and movement" from the Barnsley-born DJ and producer, AKA Daley Padley, and will consist of nine new tracks.

First single 'Shaded', which premiered today (June 12) via Mixmag's SoundCloud, features a sample of Shades of Rhythm's classic 1991 track, 'The Sound Of Eden', reimagined as a funk-laden, euphoric piano banger, which has already found its way into Hot Since 82's summer DJ sets.

'Shaded' marks Hot Since 82's first solo release via his label since 2024's 'Wild', though 2026 has already seen a string of releases from the Barnsley-born DJ and producer, AKA Daley Padley, on other imprints — including 'Right On, Right On' with Silicone Soul on Armada Music, and the Kuuda-featuring double-single 'Forever/Paper Walls' which landed on Bedrock Records in March.

Speaking on his forthcoming project, Hot Since 82 says: “Music is what gets me out of bed in the morning. It's what comforts me when I'm down, and it amplifies the good times when I'm happy."

"It's a huge part of who I am. ‘Obsessions’ features nine brand-new tracks, and I'm incredibly proud of it. It's the first album I've ever completed, handed in on time, and not second-guessed the track listing. For me, that makes it feel like a truly accomplished body of work.”
