Hollis Parker in The Lab LDN
Lock in for classic deep house sounds
The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party.
We’re currently unable to bring you live parties with DJs playing to crowds while the coronavirus outbreak has put a stop to events, but we are still bringing you new sets from the best DJs, filmed behind closed doors.
On Friday, August 7, we’re excited to host Hollis Parker.
The London-based artist hails from New York, and makes classic sounding house music with influence from elements of jazz, soul and hip hop. His sets and tracks transport you to the 80s and 90s heyday of the genre, fusing sounds you’d likely hear in seminal clubs The Warehouse and Paradise Garage through a contemporary lens.
Next month on September 18 Hollis Parker will release his second full-length album ‘Newscapism’ via SoSure Music. Across 11 tracks, the richly textured record is imbued with the emotional resonance of themes such as love, relationship difficulties and moving away from home.
Catch the stream from 6pm BST on Friday, August 7. Tune in live over on our Facebook page and re-watch later on MixmagTV.
