Hercules has launched a portable, smart phone compatible controller, DJControl Mix Ultra.

Created with non-professional music lovers in mind, the Mix Ultra features two virtual decks, eight performance pads, FX buttons, pitch volume faders and touch-sensitive jog wheels.

The controller can be operated using iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, either by manually plugging them in or connecting via Bluetooth.

Measuring at a neat 31.5cm x 17.4cm, the controller is one of the manufacturers most portable yet, featuring a rechargable battery life of up to 10-hours, users can ostensibly mix on-the-go all night unplugged — primed for packing in your bag for an impromptu after party.

With the inclusion of Algoriddim’s ‘djay pro’ app, users can mix tracks available on streaming services such as Apple Music, TIDAL and Beatport, though it isn't compatible with Spotify, due to the platform blocking third-party DJ apps.

The Mix Ultra also includes Nueral Mix, which allows users to isolate beats, instruments and vocals.

It also comes included with a cover that can be used as a mount for your smartphone and protects the device from knocks and scrapes as you make your way to the house party and back again.

The DJControl Mix Ultra is available from February 24. You can pre-order it for £149.99 here.
