Heiko Laux
Pulsating acid from the groundbreaking German artist
Berlin-based producer Heiko Laux has been a prominent figure in the world of techno for over two decades, consistently breaking new ground with his forward-thinking approach to music.
A quick scan down the discography of his Kanzleramt label, founded in 1994, emphasises the impact Heiko has made, serving up releases from some of the scene's most experimental figures such as Johannes Heil, Alexander Kowalski and Diego.
The pinnacle of the label has always been Laux's own contributions. His latest album 'Fernweh' blew our minds with its dense soundscapes and hard-hitting industrialism: the perfect release to mark Kanzleramt's 20th anniversary and encapsulate everything the label is about.
For his next record, Laux is linking up with another deeply influential figure from the German capital, Ben Klock. During a chance meeting on a recent plane journey the pair got talking, and by the time they landed plans for a three-track EP on Klockworks had been arranged. It's a match made in techno heaven.
'Dry Me (Acid Mix)' showcases Laux at his pulsating best. A throbbing acid line and booming kick emerge from the very first beat, serving as a strong base from which the track swells upwards with Laux's signature immersive textures.
'Klockworks 17' is out on January 27, you can pre-order it here
