Out now, the club-fuelled version of the hit track has already been played out by HAAi at Glastonbury Festival, the opportunity came about in a WhatsApp chat with HAAi’s “nearest and queerest” called ‘Padam’, according to the producer.
HAAi explains in her statement on Instagram: “I thought. How funny would it be, if as a surprise, I got the stems to the track and made a remix for our group of friends”.
After asking her management, two days later, a message from BMG came through saying: “Can’t wait to hear what HAAi does”.
“I had 4 shows in diffenrent countries that weekend and some pretty hectic travel,” HAAi recalls adding: “I got working on every flight, in every transfer and airport terminal until I finished it.”
With some finishing touches and “specific instructions” from HAAi, she asked producer Pat Alvarez to finish the song.
Her statement adds: “Thank you to my friends who have played the track out in clubs and festivals so far.”
She concludes: “Nice to get some more Aussie female energy on this track. Major labels don’t forget, non-male producers exist and we’re pretty damn capable.”
‘Padam Padam’ has become a global sensation after its release in May this year and has seen Kylie claim her first top 10 hit in more than a decade.
Speaking to the Official Charts, Minogue says: "This is truly amazing and 19 year old me would say the same thing! I am so thankful to everyone involved with Padam Padam and am astounded at how people have made it their own. The song belongs to everyone now and I’m loving every second of it."
