HAAi wins BBC Essential Mix of the Year 2018
She was up against the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Four Tet and Ivy Lab
HAAi's "psyched-out" Essential Mix offering has been crowned BBC Essential Mix of the Year 2018.
The ex-Phonox resident and Coconut Beats boss was shortlisted alongside Ricardo Villalobos, Avalon Emerson, Four Tet and more.
Her slammin’ two hour house and leftfield techno mix first aired back in September, shortly before the end of her residency at the South London club. It will be aired once again on the BBC Radio 1 airwaves on December 28.
Former Mixmag cover star Helena Hauff came out on top back in 2017. Hauff, alongside a selection of other artists and DJs including the likes of Pete Tong, Monki and Danny Howard, stepped up to judge this year’s instalment.
