Glass Figure
'States' EP (Zone)
8/10
By now you should be familiar with the output of Zone Records. As one of France's leading imprints for dark, brooding and atmospheric electro, we haven't heard a bad EP from the label. Some may be put off by the harrowing sounds but for those in know, it doesn't get much better.
Glass Figure are the duo behind this latest release and you can expect five tracks that cover ambient, acid, electro and staggered techno. Our pick of the bunch is 'Cold Eyes', a driving behemoth of a track that winds and grinds through heavy kick-drums, bold computer tones and menacing synths. 'Solid State' is one for the acid fans, and 'After They Left' is the sort of twisted lullaby that Gesaffelstein would draw for at the end of a set.
