GIANT STEPS' current home The Bath House issued eviction notice from Hackney Council
Also home to club events such as Boboxa and Club Alegría, the community-run venue is calling on Mayor Sadiq Khan to intervene in the council's decision
East London not-for-profit arts venue The Bath House is under threat following Hackney Council's decision to terminate its lease.
Home to a number of arts initiatives and club nights - including GIANT STEPS, Boboxa and Club Alegría - the community-run venue was launched in 2017 by collective Stour Space, who helped to renovate the former public swimming bath from a state on disrepair into a fully-functioning arts hub.

Later, The Bath House came under the stewardship of non-profit enterprise Civic State, who established a number of arts programmes, sauna sessions and grassroots cultural events within the building.
The Bath House has launched a petition calling on Mayor of Hackney Caroline Woodley and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to intervene in the council's decision — insisting that Hackney Council has not given the team a reason for the termination.

"Standing up for The Bath House is standing up for fairness, for transparency, and for a future where people, not just profits, shape our cities and the world we live in," the team behind the venue wrote in the event description.
