The festival has once again partnered with Worldwide FM and Rhythm Section

GALA Festival announces first names for 2022 return

GALA Festival has announced that it will be returning for a sixth edition next year - taking advantage of the new bank holiday weekend (Thursday, June 2 - Saturday, June 4).

Following a sell-out 2021 show, the festival will be returning for three days to Peckham Rye Park.

Thursday’s line-up will span bass, soul, jazz and afrobeats - with organisers a promising an emphasis on "live music" for this year's edition.

Friday will see worldwide electronic music be pushed to the forefront, with GALA teaming up with Worldwide FM and Berlin-based community station Refuge Worldwide.

Saturday is curated with the help of long-time GALA collaborators Rhythm Section, Rye Wax and Horse Meat Disco and will feature an eclectic range of DJs, selectors and more.

The 3-day line-up includes an array of world renowned musicians, collectives, producers and selectors including Goldie, Shy One, Donna Leake, Seun Kuti, Marcellus Pittman, Nia Archives, Shanti Celeste, Children of Zeus and more.

On Instagram, GALA said "Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10:AM to previous ticket holders, and those who are registered only"

Registration closes at midnight on Thursday.

"Make sure those alarms are set, these will go fast".

The festival has said that for 2022 it's main aim is to create an intimate atmosphere, with attention on creating a safe space and keeping an emphasis on the music.

GALA will also again welcome and raise money for the Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers.
