One Records breaks into its 2016 stride with this monster release. A simple one-sider, the Midlands label proves you don't have to rely on a multitude of remixers to make a track stand out.

'Amethyst' takes an age to kick in, but it's the anticipation the track creates in its monumental build-up that gives it the edge. The atmospherics verge on overwhelming at times, but combined with a mysterious vocal and measured progression it's a winner.
