Mixmag readers respond to DJ Sneak
Does learning how to mix on vinyl really make you a true DJ?
Outspoken dance music legend DJ Sneak used a recent interview to explain what he thinks makes a true DJ.
The House Gangster said: "If you're a DJ you learn how to mix with decks first... I don't care how big you are, in front of a million people, if you never touched a piece of vinyl and actually mixed that and created something with that, you're not a DJ in my eyes. I look down on people like that."
Like many of Sneak's sound-offs, this one split opinion right down the middle of wax purists and liberal digital lovers. It also incited a delicious amount of jokes.
Here are the best quips, comebacks and responses to Sneak from Mixmag readers, via our Facebook page.
And all this has left us wondering: are we a little too tough on the kids these days?
