Frank & Tony
Hazy house at its finest
For a lush, serene and soothing house treat, Frank & Tony's 'Waiting Ground' EP from earlier this year is a top pick on the menu. The title track comes with a subtle fizz that could easily be used as meditation music and their edit of Donato Wharton's 'Absentia' is exactly what you want to hear in the wee hours of the morning at an afterparty.
It came out in March on their label Scissor and Thread, as has a large chunk of their material since 2012. 'Presents 001', a collection of tunes including remixes from Kai Alce and Steve Bug, was the first, with their debut album 'You Go Girl' coming out in 2014. In that you'll find dusty, dubby cuts like 'After Days' and the tinkering 'Novella'. These are your guys for music oozing calmness.
They continue their dedication to Scissor and Thread with the forthcoming 'Under The Jaguar Sun' EP, out on July 15. They describe the four-tracker as a "summer stomper" and clear blue skies and sunshine certainly come to mind when listening to the track we're premiering, 'Difficult Loves'.
As they've consistently done for the last four years, F&T deliver a marble-topped tune laced with delicious pads, softly-beating kicks and caressing percussive claps. Hazy house at its finest.
