Essential: Pola gets deep with hypnotic minimal house on the ‘Kuku’ EP
Two captivating cuts on the Yoyaku sub-label AKU
Hungarian producer Pola, aka Polarize, lands on the fresh Yoyaku sub-label AKU with a two-track 12” titled ‘Kuku’, featuring two deep and minimal house cuts.
Building on the stacked catalogue of AKU, which includes releases by Janeret, Varhat, Clébert, and Molly, Pola now delivers more focused dancefloor energy. He’s built up a solid reputation as resident of Romania’s Midi Club and is one to rely on as a tastemaker through his own label All Inn Records.
‘Triangle’, which is found on the a-side of the ‘Kuku’ EP, moves at a steady pace with rolling bass riffs and a gritty tech house motif. ‘Survival’ rounds out the release on the b-side with a melodic tribal groove complete with tripped out textures. Both are sure dancefloor bombs not to be overlooked. Listen to both cuts below.
