Essential: Four Tet’s remix of The xx’s ‘A Violent Noise’
A floor-primed rework
Earlier this week Four Tet took to Twitter to direct a message to SoundCloud, in a since-deleted tweet, announcing he had made a remix of The xx that he wanted to upload to the music platform without it getting pulled for copyright.
We’re glad they were able to come to an understanding, because the track, a remix of ‘A Violent Noise’ from The xx’s 2017 album ‘I See You’, which has now been released online is a blissful listen.
It sees Four Tet take the gentle original and stretch it out into an intergalactic house voyage with swelling synth lines and rolling percussion. Listen below.
