Eminem's 'Stan' is now in the Oxford English Dictionary

"Just to chat, truly yours, your biggest fan, this is Stan"

It's taken a while, but one of Eminem's most famous track titles has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary.

'Stan' from 2000 has made it in with the noun definition "an overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity." Used as a verb, it means to "be an overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity."

There's no exact confirmation that Eminem's tune inspired the addition, but the origin of it is noted as "early 21st century probably with allusion to the 2000 song 'Stan' by the American rapper Eminem."

It's yet another bizarre addition to the dictionary following 'twerk', 'photobomb' and 'fo'shizzle' in 2015.
