Ed Sheeran: "The head-fuck for me is working out why people dislike me so much"
*Scratches head and frowns*
Poor Ed Sheeran, eh. He's fell into Twitter submission and quit the platform as a result of endless abuse from trolls.
The Suffolk singer's headline slot at Glastonbury triggered a wave of insults, the most popular slur being "ginger busker", referring to his unbreakable relationship with his acoustic guitar.
He might have seen that term being thrown at him again and again, but he's still got no idea why he's become a figure of social media hate.
Speaking to The Sun, Sheeran said: "I've actually come off Twitter completely. I can't read it. I go on it and there's nothing but people saying mean things. One comment ruins your day. But that's why I've come off it.
"The head-fuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much."
Surely some time away from the platform will allow him to get to the bottom of it.
We can hold our hands up and say we stoked the fires even more by reporting on his very dry Glasto rider. Sorry Ed, but your choice of Robinsons Squash and jar of honey just doesn't do it for us.
