No, this isn’t an early April Fool's - there’s a new line of fragrances inspired by music, which means you can now “smell like” your favourite albums.

LA radio station dublab has teamed up with The Institute for Art and Olfaction and BIGHOUSE to present a range of scents inspired by “groundbreaking albums” over the years, named Nose Music.

“Finally… music smells,” dublab announced on social media last week. “Presenting Nose Music, a sensorial addition to the music we love.”

The set includes 10 perfumes inspired by the likes of Brian Eno’s ‘Another Green World’, Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer World’, and The Velvet Underground & Nico’s eponymous record.

Other fragrances are inspired by records from Nina Simone, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Alice Coltrane, Os Mutantes, Augustus Pablo & King Tubby, and Fela Kuti.

“This limited-release box set contains 10 custom-formulated fragrances, each inspired by a classic, groundbreaking album curated by dublab,” they explained.

Only 200 sets have been made, which are now up for grabs for $200 a pop. Accompanying artworks for the fragrances are made by Chris Johanson & Joanna Jackson, Dave Muller, Eboy, Fernanda Cohen, Frohawk Two Feathers, and more.

In January, dublab announced a partnership with Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to bring music and art to the Tom Bradley International Terminal for the "next three to five years".

"It's been years in the making, and now we can finally announce: dublab has been awarded a grant to program Art & Music at the Los Angeles International Airport,” they announced. “We are honoured to curate diverse and memorable art experiences to enhance and humanise the travel experience.”
