Digga D arrested and charged with drug offence following police raid on his home

Digga D has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis, after police raided the rapper’s home last Wednesday, (February 21).

The raid is said to have occurred in the early hours of the morning, while Digga was in the middle of an Instagram Live, according to NME.

The 23-year-old West London drill artist - real name Rhys Angelo Emile Herbert - was at his home in Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln, when the raid took place.

Reports claim that the artist could be heard shouting while on the live stream, as multiple police vehicles, police dogs and drones were sent to raid the property, which is said to have lasted "two hours."

The artist was heard shouting “What do you lot want?” on the live stream which is no longer available to watch, NME reports.

Digga was claimed to have repeatedly told the police that he was “on the floor” before an officer then shouted “armed police!” The rapper responded: “I am coming! Why’re you lot doing that?”

He was then told to “come to the front door with [his] hands [up]” before the Instagram Live ended.

Digga D appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court on February 22, according to The Lincolnite, and was charged with “being concerned in the supply of cannabis and fraudulent evasion of the prohibition of the importation”.

The Met Police have confirmed to The Lincolnite that the artist only spoke to confirm his identity and when he asked to give a plea, he gave “no indication to both charges”.

The report adds that the decision was based on his previous offences while on bail and that it could “interfere with witnesses due to his public profile”.

A plea and trial preparation hearing has been set for March 25 at Lincoln Crown Court.

Mixmag has contacted Digga D representatives for a statement.
