Detroit’s got a brand new nightclub
Formerly Magic Stick, Populux has got a host of credible house and techno acts set to play there
Derrick Carter and DJ Sneak were on the decks on Saturday to launch Populux, the club that's taken over Magic Stick in Detroit.
The venue's had a complete makeover with the former pool hall upstairs being turned into a bright and vibrant dancefloor, with the once-rundown beams now clad in six colour-changing panels.
According to the Detroit Metro Times, the layout of the main bar's almost exactly the same apart from the removal of a partition and the addition of two smaller bars and a VIP booth.
Next up is Kevin Saunderson and Green Velvet this Friday, with Shadow Child, Sasha, Black Butter Records (Movement Festival afterparty), Carl Craig, Nina Kraviz and Dusky lined up for the rest of spring and summer.
