Clementine Douglas shares new single 'Slippin''
"It’s about what I recently discovered is called the ‘arrival fallacy’ — that thing where you feel like you’ll be content when you achieve a certain thing or whatever and then you get there and it’s not it"
Clementine Douglas has released her latest single, 'Slippin''.
Weaving between soul, breakbeat and R&B elements, the track follows her debut 'Riddles' earlier this year, packed with soft keys, bubbling brass and carefully-placed elements of breakbeat.

Within the track, Douglas explores the concept of the arrival fallacy, on which she says:
“Sonically, ‘Slippin’’ has elements of all the kinds of music I love: the soul, breakbeat and R&B. It’s about what I recently discovered is called the ‘arrival fallacy' — that thing where you feel like you’ll be content when you achieve a certain thing or whatever and then you get there and it’s not it!
“This song is about the realisation of that and a mantra to myself to let go of expectations and enjoy the moment as it comes."
To accompany the single, Douglas has also announced her headline live UK tour - which follows her debut live show at BBC Radio 1 Ibiza and Boardmasters Festival this summer - landing in her hometown of Birmingham in addition to Brighton, London, Manchester and Glasgow across October.
