Chimpo's packing the badman sounds once again
There must be something in the Manchester air at the minute, because it's quite the melting pot of musical magic right now.
Chimpo's one of the musicians, alongside the Swing Ting crew, DRS, Madam X and more, flying the flag for the north-west city as he continues his no-holds-barred rampage as a producer, DJ and vocalist. His 'Out An Bad' EP, his last outing on Exit Records, was a five-tracker containing ruff'n'reckless beats and last year's Fracture collaboration on Metalheadz had him knocking out severe juke blows.
He returns to dBridge's Exit this week with the 'Ram Dance Man' EP, featuring four mighty weapons that represent that savage MCR sound. Trigga and Fox join him on the title track, but Chimpo goes it alone on our exclusive 'Bedsprings Riddim'. Glistening, old skool rave keys open the track, accompanied with some sensual sighs, but things soon turn nasty as a crucifying bassline rolls out and, as the title suggests, springs whinge incessantly.
