Chic's new album 'It's About Time', initially announced last year, still hasn't got a release date, but Nile Rodgers has revealed some things to expect.

Rodgers said it's comparable Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories', the French duo's last album that included Rodgers collaborations 'Get Lucky' and 'Lose Yourself To Dance'.

Speaking to Billboard, he said: "It's very reminiscent of Daft Punk's last album that I worked on. They had been working on it for eight years before I walked into the studio and we did 'Get Lucky.' But this record has to be true to the story arc that is Chic, even though times have changed."

Regarding of when it'd be released, he added: “I’m trying to come up with the exact right date that artistically and spiritually fits the narrative of the album.”

Just last month, Rodgers revealed he had been working with Avicii on new music for the LP.

He also made a statement on his website in December explaining that the death of so many prominent musicians in 2016, including Prince and David Bowie, meant he felt the release of new material would be inappropriate.

Chic head out on a summer tour today alongside Earth, Wind & Fire.
