Brussels' club Fuse relaunches in-house label for first release in over a decade

After over a decade of dormancy, Belgium's longest running techno club, Fuse, has revived its in-house record label: Fuse Imprint.

Previous iterations of the imprint comprised the Fuse Presents mix series, with notable contributions from Adam Beyer, Deetron and Steve Bug, and the eponymous Fuse Club outlet which released live recordings from Bjork amongst others as well as albums from B12 and Anthony Rother.

Fuse Club favourite Altinbas is tasked with the Fuse Imprint's inaugral release, with single 'Hunt' kicking off the label at full pace. The 'Reshape' EP will be out in its entirety digitally and on vinyl on September 29th and promises four cuts of timeless techno balancing drive, tension and introspection. Brussels native Altinbas began producing in 2015 and has previously released on Non Series, Token, SK_Eleven and his own imprint Observer Station.

Fuse has been at the centre of Brussels' vibrant club scene for almost 30 years but its longevity has recently been put under threat. Earlier in the year the Brussels Regional Administration (Brussels Leefmillieu) requested the nightclub closed after noise complaints, but after discussions with the government and the Brussels by Night federation its re-opening was granted under new restrictions.

Following their brief closure, Fuse have looked at external options to secure its future. 29th anniversary celebrations were held at Quadrilatères, a 20-year vacant space underneath Brussels' south railway line, allegedly as a tester for eligibility as Fuse's future home.

This, as well as the revival of its record label, indicate that the legendary venue, which has housed legends such as Juan Atkins, Robert Hood and Daft Punk over the years, is showing no signs of sitting still.
