Brooklyn nightclub Rash to reopen next month following arson attack
The club has been closed for more than two years after it was set ablaze
Brooklyn nightclub Rash is set to reopen next month more than two years after it was shuttered following an arson attack.
The New York club, situated on Willoughby St in Downtown Brooklyn, was closed in April 2022 when an arsonist set the club ablaze. Two people sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital following the attack.
On Monday, March 15, Rash announced on Instagram that the club will reopen in its original location. “We’re so excited to announce, two years after the fire that we’re coming back to 941 Willoughby next month,” they said.

“We’ve missed you all so much and we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve done with the place,” they added. “It’s been an incredibly tough two years coordinating our rebuild and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our incredible community, staff, contractors, city officials and so many more.”
Rash told fans to expect “lots more news” soon, with a link to tickets for its opening week which will run next month from Wednesday, April 17, to Sunday, April 21. The line-up has yet to be announced.
Before its closure, Rash welcomed DJs including Despina, TYGAPAW, DJ Haram, WTCHCRFT, quest?onmarq, Vitesse, and Bored Lord.
The arson attack happened on April 3, 2022, when a "tall white man” wearing a black hoodie and a backpack reportedly covered the floor in a clear liquid, per a bystander account to Resident Advisor.

The man then proceeded to use a lighter, setting off an explosion at the back of the club. He allegedly raced out of the building, followed by a crowd of people. A bartender and DJ were injured after running through the blaze, RA reported.
A 24-year-old man named John Lhota was arrested in suspicion of connection to the arson attack shortly after, although few details have emerged since then.
On April 5, 2022, Rash launched a GoFundMe to support “everyone directly affected, our staff who will be out of work for the foreseeable future, and eventually the repair of the space”. The fundraiser has so far collected more than $125,000.
