A brick salvaged from New York's Paradise Garage is up for auction
The artefact is part of a collection of mementos from New York DJ, producer and label owner Victor Simonelli
A brick salvaged from the demolition of legendary New York nightclub Paradise Garage is currently up for auction.
The hallowed piece of masonry is one of several artefacts from the collection of New York DJ, producer and label owner Victor Simonelli as part of Wax Poetics' NYC Club Culture & Dance Relics auction, which launched earlier this month (March 5).

Simonelli collected the brick "personally" following the completed 2018 demolition of the building that once housed the nightclub, once the stomping ground of legendary DJ Larry Levan on 84 King Street in Manhattan.
Among the attributes listed for the brick, which is currently bidding at $500 on Wax Poetics' website, include "visible mortar and age wear" and its rarity in being an "authentic physical remnant of a demolished NYC club landmark."
Other items available include an invitation to New York's The Loft from owner David Mancuso, a rare recording of Grace Jones performing at Fire Island in 1977 and a leather jacket produced by Henry Street Music in the 1990s to mark the release of Johnick's 'Magic'.
"Victor retrieved this brick directly from the site during that transitional moment - when the venue shifted from living memory to physical absence," reads a description. "The surface shows visible wear, mortar residue and age consistent with structural material."
Wax Poetics' auction of NYC Club Culture & Dance Relics are available to bid on here.
