8/12/2022: Updated to include details on the former owners of the space.

A new nightclub Is set to open in Brixton this weekend, from the teams behind Brixton Jamm and Percolate.

Opening for the first time on Friday, December 9 — The Ton Of Brix on Coldharbour Lane will feature weekly programming and adds to the few London venues with a 24-hour license.

The club, just a short walk from Brixton station, is in the former home of Club 414 — a legendary acid-techno venue that shut down in 2019 after an extended court battle over noise complaints, though owners suspected it was due to the venue's "prime spot" in South London.

The space was bought by controversial Brixton Market developers Hondo Enterprises in the same year, who at the time of purchase said it would be looking for "new tenants" for the venue.

The official launch party welcomes in the likes of Hammer, Malaika, and Krywald & Ferrer on Friday, while Saturday sees David August perform a solo DJ set.

“It was the beginning of 2019 when we first laid eyes on this site,” The Ton Of Brix posted on Instagram last week. “A venue with a 24-hour licence in a buzzing part of Brixton.”

“Now almost 4 years later featuring a pandemic and planning hell, we are days from being able to share what we’ve been working on all this time. We’ll be announcing our launch events later today.”
