The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. Last Friday Mixmag welcomed Boris Werner to The Lab NYC to deliver a sonic journey through his distinct brand of house.

Since emerging as a key player within Amsterdam’s underground house scene, Boris Werner’s dedication to his craft has propelled him into the spotlight. Having held residencies at both Trouw in Amsterdam and Ibiza's Circoloco, he’s become known as an innovative DJ, taking the dance floor on an endless journey through raw and infectious grooves. It’s clear he knows how to work a crowd and making people dance is what he does best.

Although his skill behind the decks is his bread and butter, Werner is definitely comfortable in the studio as well. Focusing on quality over quantity, he tends to immerse himself in the production process and his music has landed on respected labels like Voyage Direct, Get Physical and Rush Hour to name a few. His recently released ‘Daymare Dreamer’ EP on Ellen Allien’s BPitch Control showcased the full scope of his sound.
