Boomtown encourages freedom of expression with Respect campaign
The festival has also made a sustainability pledge
Boomtown is putting forward a pledge to encourage freedom of expression at the festival as a part of its Respect campaign.
Members of the organisation have undergone a series of training sessions and workshops to support a set of values, built on understanding about equality, consent, a zero tolerance approach to harassment, accessibility, engaging positively with mental health issues, inclusivity and unconscious bias awareness.
Measures include an increased number of viewing platforms for greater accessibility, LQBTQ+ spaces open to everyone, and Samaritans on site and available 24 hours a day for mental health aid. Find out more here.
The aim is to make the festival a respectful place where everyone is comfortable and able to be themselves. Staff will be on hand to provide assistance for any problems.
Boomtown is also making a sustainability pledge to limit its environmental impact. Read its Environmental Policy here.
