BFTT announces debut album, ‘Redefines’

Manchester-based artist BFTT has announced his debut album, ‘Redefines’, due to drop on May 5 via TT label.

Alongside the announcement he released the album’s first single, ‘Rezalemass’, a dance-floor focused cut where heavy-hitting broken beats are layered beneath euphoric vocal samples.

The artist described the cut as “a culmination of sounds from various people and places put into some kind of logical order in an attempt to make people dance”.

His debut album, ‘Redefines’, is the result of a four-year writing process, leading to the production of seven tracks which is dubbed his most 'reflective work to date’.

Sounds within the album include rainy soundscapes and more glitchy vocals, shifting to warmer basslines and high-frequency elements.

There’s a hefty inclusion of off-kilter beats, elements of dub sounds and kick beats, tied together with orchestral acoustic strings.

With the album’s sound drawing upon everything that he has produced throughout his sonic explorations - almost taking form as an audio diary - BFTT has amassed a variety of sounds, spaces and rhythms for his debut.
