Berlin nightclubs are providing shelter for homeless people
Berlin's Astra Kulturhaus and Bi Nuu are opening their doors
Two nightclubs in Berlin are providing shelter for homeless people in the German capital.
Astra Kulturhaus and Bi Nuu, located in Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain, are the venues opening their doors one night a week in January and February as the temperature gets colder.
German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel reports that Bi Nuu will have space for up to 15 women, while 25 men will be able to be accommodated in Astra Kulturhaus.
Sara Lühmann, a spokeswoman for the Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain district, said: "[It's] great when clubs make such offers and take on social responsibility.
"We are happy about every additional offer to further expand the number of cold weather places."
